Day 6Zanjan---Takht-e Soleyman----Hamedan (Ground transfer 422 KM)

In the morning ground transfer from Zanjan. Firstly Takht-e Soleyman (UNESCO World Heritage site) will be visited.

In addition, the site includes the principal Zoroastrian sanctuary partly rebuilt in the Ilkhanid (Mongol) period (13th century) as well as a temple of the Sasanian period (6th and 7th centuries) dedicated to Anahita.

So, The site has important symbolic significance. Above all, The designs of the fire temple, the palace and the general layout have strongly influenced the development of Islamic architecture. Then continue toward Hamedan, arrive Hamedan, hotel check in and rest.

Overnight: Hamedan.

Day 7Hamedan---Kangavar --- Sahneh---Bisotun---Kermanshah (Ground transfer 251 KM).

Hamedan city tour include visit of: Firstly, Alaviyan Dome and then, Tomb of Baba Taher and Tomb of Abu Ali Sina. After that, Esther and Mordekhai Tomb will be visited and then, ground transfer toward Kermanshah via Kangavar and Sahneh. Finally, arrive to Bisotun (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

After tour, arrive Kermanshah, hotel check in and rest.

For instance, Bisotun is from the prehistoric times to the Median, Achaemenid, Sassanian, and Ilkhanid periods. In addition, the principal monument of this archaeological site is the bas-relief and cuneiform inscription ordered by Darius I, The Great, when he rose to the throne of the Persian Empire, 521 BC. The bas-relief portrays Darius holding a bow, as a sign of sovereignty, and treading on the chest of a figure who lies on his back before him.

According to legend, the figure represents Gaumata, the Median Magus and pretender to the throne whose assassination led to Darius’s rise to power. Below and around the bas-reliefs, there are ca. 1,200 lines of inscriptions telling the story of the battles Darius waged in 521-520 BC against the governors who attempted to take apart the Empire founded by Cyrus.

Above all, the inscription is written in three languages. The oldest is an Elamite text referring to legends describing the king and the rebellions. This is followed by a Babylonian version of similar legends.

The last phase of the inscription is particularly important, as it is here that Darius introduced for the first time the Old Persian version of his res gestae (things done). This is the only known monumental text of the Achaemenids to document the re-establishment of the Empire by Darius I.

It also bears witness to the interchange of influences in the development of monumental art and writing in the region of the Persian Empire.

There are also remains from the Median period (8th to 7th centuries B.C.) as well as from the Achaemenid (6th to 4th centuries B.C.) and post-Achaemenid periods.

Day 8Kermanshah---Khoram Abad ---Dezful (Ground transfer 422 KM).

Day 10 Ahwaz-Shiraz (Flight).

Day 11Shiraz---Firuzabad-- Bishapur--Shiraz.

In a brief, the ensemble at Firuzabad comprises, within a 12 km diameter area, such archaeological sites as the City of Gur, the Palace of Ardashir (Atashkadeh), Qal’eh Dokhtar fortress, bas reliefs from the time of Ardashir (the founder of the Sassanian dynasty), the Pahlavi inscription of Mehr-Nerse and Tangab Bridge. This ensemble embodies the political, historic, cultural and artistic developments of the early Sassanian period. 

And, the City of Gur covers a perfect circle 2 km in diameter, and 8 km away from it, the palace of Ardashir stands beside a pond on the bank of the western branch of Tangab river (Firuzabad). The Qal’eh Dokhtar fortress stands atop the mountain adjoining Tangab river and the ensemble built 4 km away from the palace of Aldashir.

At the foot of the Qal’eh Dokhtar fortress the remains of a Sassanian bridge, and on its opposite body the bas-relief depicting the crowning of Ardashir, the Pahlavi Sassanian inscription of Mehr-Nerse, from the time of Yazdgerd II, and at a small distance, between the palace and the fortress, the bas-relief depicting the victory of Ardashir over Ataban V, the last Parthian king, are situated. Bishapur is one of Iran’s ancient cities, located in Kazerun of Fars province.

It was built by the order of Shapur I in the Sassanid era in 266 A.D. 

Overnight in Shiraz.

Day 12Shiraz.

Shiraz city tour include visit of: Firstly, Nasirolmolk mosque and then, Narenjestan Qavam garden, Eram garden(Persian garden-UNESCO World heritage site). Day 13Shiraz---Persepolis---Pasargadae(ground Transfer 140 KM).

Day 14Shiraz---Kerman (Ground transfer 570 KM).

Early in the morning, ground transfer from Shiraz to Kerman. Arrive Kerman, firstly, Ganjali Khan Mosque will be visited. Then,  Gonbad-e Jabaliyeh=Jabaliyeh historical Dome and at the end, Ganjali Khan historical Bathhouse will be visited.

Day 15Kerman---Bam (ground transfer 192 KM)---Kerman.

In the morning ground transfer toward Bam. Firstly, in the way Shahzadeh Mahan Historical Garden (Persian garden-UNESCO World Heritage) will be visited. Then, arrive to Bam(UNESCO World Heritage site).

At the end after visit Bam city, return to Kerman.

Bam description:

Bam is situated in a desert environment on the southern edge of the Iranian high plateau. The origins of Bam can be traced back to the Achaemenid period (6th to 4th centuries BC).

Its heyday was from the 7th to 11th centuries, being at the crossroads of important trade routes and known for the production of silk and cotton garments.

The existence of life in the oasis was based on the underground irrigation canals, the qanāts, of which Bam has preserved some of the earliest evidence in Iran.

Arg-e Bam is the most representative example of a fortified medieval town built in vernacular technique using mud layers (Chineh ).

Overnight in Kerman.

Day16Kerman --- Yazd (ground transfer 370 KM).
